MICRONAUT MRSA GP -This product covers key resistances shown by:
Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecium & Enterococcus faecalis and Streptococcus pneumoniae
This product provides MICss for 15 relevant antibiotics used to treat Gram positive cocci infections particularly those caused by organisms exhibiting antibiotic resistance. All interpretations are in-line with EUCAST recommendations.
> In addition a number of antibiotics are included to help detect Staphylococci exhibiting comparatively rare resistances such as macrolide, lincosamide and streptogramin B (MLSB) resistance and borderline oxacillin resistance in Staph. aureus(BORSA).
> Enterococcus faecium is differentiated from Enterococcus faecalis using synercid MIC. Vancomycin and Teicoplanin MIC's detect phenotypic glycopeptide resistance.
> Moxifloxacin MIC is used to detect group IV quinolones resistance in Streptococcus pneumoniae whilst a penicillin MIC detects PBP changes.
Gentamicin high level
