98019 Total ESBL and AmpC Confirm kit (EUCAST)
Utilises cefotaxime, ceftazidime and their combinations with cloxacillin and/or clavulanic acid.
This kit permits the detection of ESBLs in Enterobacteriaceae producing inducible AmpC (Enterobacter, Serratia, C. freundii, Morganella etc) as well as Enterobacteriaceae with little or no chromosomal beta-lactamase activity (e.g. E. coli, Klebsiella spp. P. mirabilis)
98008 ESBL + AmpC Screen Kit
Utilises cefotaxime and combinations with clavulanic acid and cloxacillin
The use of cefotaxime alone and in combinations with clavulanic acid and cloxacillin provides a comprehensive screening kit for both ESBLs and AmpC with the highest sensitivity and specificity for a single agent. This product does not meet the EUCAST requirement for a confirmation test.

98006 KPC + MBL Confirm (EUCAST)
Four cartridges of tablets containing 10 µg Meropenem (diffusible amount) alone and in combination with inhibitors of different β-lactamases.
This combination disk test has the advantage of being well-validated in studies. The tablets contain meropenem +/- various inhibitors. In brief, boronic acid inhibits class A carbapenemases and dipicolinic acid inhibits class B carbapenemases. Cloxacillin, which inhibits AmpC -lactamases, has been added to the tests to differentiate between AmpC hyper-production plus porin loss and carbapenemase production.
98015 KPC, MBL & OXA-48 Confirm (EUCAST)
Five cartridges of tablets, four containing 10 µg Meropenem alone and in combination with inhibitors of different β-lactamases whilst a fifth is Temocillin 30 µg.
Identical to 98006 (above) but with the addition of Temocillin.
High-level temocillin resistance is a phenotypic indicator of OXA-48 production, which should be considered in the absence of synergy with inhibitors of class A and B carbapenemases.
